Looks like a week or so of high pressure and warm temps though the HPC and CPC are not super confident regarding how the next pattern change develops.

way to far to predict but sunny and warm til at least Thursday. Some models show the ridge breaking down on Friday or late Thursday. Enjoy the warm sunny weather this week.

ugh, the snow is already starting to melt. I saw a lot of open creeks today and I think one of the thermometers at vail said 40 degrees

mixed forecast. Looks like something for the weekend....don't like the chances of it being big and I fear more high pressure after it exits.

Looks like a closed low for this weekend which just fucks any prediction for timing and track, but the longer range models look more like a return to a stormy, pain train pattern (at least from the HPC's 6-10 and 8-14 day forecasts)*

I did not read the discussions, which could mean that the forecasts could be at low probability.

Those forecasts have looked the same for the past serveral days, so hopefully that indicates some confidence.

what we could really use is a big ole chunk of arctic air. Seems like it has been awfully warm for a long time. Come on Feb, you can do better than Jan did in both precip and temps.

Yup. And the discussions have trended positively since the end of next week with the 6-10 at a 5 and 8-14 at a 4.

I have a quick question for the CO Weather Experts, please forgive me if this is in the wrong thread/section. I recently booked a trip to Breckenridge from 2/22-2/27. It will be my first time at the mountain (I've forever been a Utah guy) and my first time in Colorado. I've searched for information on weather trends for the area and have come up empty, so onto my question:

What kind of weather should I be expected the last week in Feb? Lately it's been getting warmer and warmer there, this normal? Any idea on what kind of conditions to expect? And lastly, anyone local want to drag me around the mountain for a day and show me where to ski

Again, sorry if this isn't in the right section, thanks for all the help.

    Tyler

the storm for the weekend is complex. I would expect the snow level to be pretty high on Friday, kinda like the last cycle we had. Look for a very similar pattern as last time. We really need some arctic air.

By the way, I am curious as to where we were totals wise for this time last year. I don't remember last year being as warm and I certainly don't remember back to back week long suckfests. Anybody have any idea where I could compare year to date #s from year to year?
