weird weather. I rode my Mountain Bike in the valley today in shorts and Monarch Pass seemed like it was not getting much snow at all....meanwhile reports out of CB are that they are getting pounded. My Mom could not get her car out of the driveway this afternoon over there.

Snowed all day at Berthoud Pass. Lots of mini systems rolled through with some intense nukage then letting up for a few minutes then back to nukage. Repeat indefinitely. Report from 30 minutes go state nukage still ongoing at WP. Snotels near Steamboat are already reporting 2-2.5" of precip from this storm.

^^ That's what I was thinking. It kinda spit rain for a bit right at the beginning here at 10k, but then it was all snow. weather.gov is showing highs up to 31 this week for Leadville. That's way too warm for 10k in January.

Nice and partly cloudy here at 7,800. Dusting on the car, not much overnight snow... Who knows what the weather was like up high?

I'm not very technical with my weather, but the South Westerly pineapple express never seem to produce great snow for Vail like the cooler storms that arrive from the Northwest

Was soft and somewhat powerdery at Vail yesterday, nothing epic, but fun turns

    Rain sure does suck.

The 19 inches of precipitation we've had in the last 48 hours is really crappy.

The skiing is some of the worst ever here in Crested Butte, so everyone stay home

looks like we remain progressive thru Thursday. I see another pattern shift on Friday for another 7 or so day period of high pressure and way above normal temps. Hopefully this changes.

^^^ I hope it snows at least on Thursday (and Friday too), I'm heading down to Aspen and I don't want to ski 3000 feet of bumps.

    LL was Tits McGee today.

Oh, and MTBS- no fair posting pics here... this is a weather discussion!

Thank, M. Hope you are feeling better. Today was that rare combination of light winds, on and off snow, and excellent turning conditions.

Thankfully we got up there and got it early to avoid the megashitshow.

A-basin was simply amazing today... only 10 inches in 48 hours as of this morning but it dumped all day, and despite being a little wet (felt like Sierra snow) it was still the bomb. So glad I got a chance to break out my new JJs. Should be sick tomorrow too, I'm thinking I'll hit up Copper since I still have a free day there

Vail was very good today if you knew where to look...otherwise, exposed areas were a little hard underneath. The snow got better as the day progressed, however

Hopefully the forecasted snow comes during the day- because it didn't really fall last night.

    Off to A-Basin.

If you hike the bowl you won't have too many bumps to deal with, but other than that, yeah we got bumps. But at least they are covered up with a couple of feet of fresh right now.

The winds were already howling today.... easily 50+ mph gusts at the top of A-Basin, if not stronger. Sure made for some $$$ snow in Zuma though.
