damn I just have to be busy with school today... guess I'll head to the beav tomorrow for leftovers
You aren't seriously suggesting some sort of conspiracy theory involving snow reports and ticket sales are you? Snow reports are sacred measurements made by only the most distinguished and ethical members of the marketing team. To even suggest that they alter their reports to manage ticket sales between different ski resorts is nothing short of blasphemy!
Should be epic Saturday, check out the friday forecast for summit county, bring your snorkels.
Friday:Mostly sunny, with a high near 37. Wind chill values as low as -3. South wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
Friday Night A 30 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. Breezy, with a south wind 13 to 18 mph decreasing to 7 to 12 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
^you realize the main part of the storm isn't even coming in til saturday? lol no shit it says that for friday....
Joel at OpenSnow is calling for ~6-12+" for most of the I-70 resorts over the weekend. Now that we have some sort of base from this last storm that should be enough to make it pretty fun out.
Should be a solid storm for the San Juans, I’m sure WC will knock out another 2-3’ as usual. The Butte and Purgatory should also do pretty well. Looks like the winds should shift to the NW later in the weekend, getting things going for the I70 area.
If anything wants to meet up in the ‘Boat, shoot me a PM, I’m there Sat and Sun.
Best regards, Terry

I'm thinking of heading to Wolf Creek for local's day on Sunday but it seems like Saturday might be the day there.......worth the drive?
Will be there Saturday as well as Sunday with a buddy from Edwards/Vail. Looking for a place to crash on the East side of the pass if anyone's willing? Two 22 year old's just looking to grab some couch/floor.
Outdoor Divas day at Luv...lotsa vag here
Anybody get to Breck today? How was it? Most interested in alpine bowl terrain conditions, stuff accessed by T-Bar and Imperial.

More bad news From CAIC...
The closed low moves over Colorado on Saturday and spreads snow over most mountains. Models are trending the low more and more north, decreasing the total snowfall in Colorado.
Looks like S-SW winds for the storm this weekend. I guessing 1-70 gets little or no snow.
Whale's Tail was holding great snow. Peak 7 snow was also pretty good, once you get out there. Getting out there is a kind of a pain as the high traverse out to CJs and the top of Y requires removing your skis and hiking through rock. Skier's left side of Horseshoe (Lulu's, Humbug) wasn't very good as most of the new snow slid off on the slick, firm snow underneath. Skier's right side of Horseshoe was better snow, but bumpier. Saw a rider triggered slide out on Peak 6 with tracks out. Don't really know what people are thinking riding out on the middle to south end of Peak 6 in amongst the rocks where the odds of hitting a shallow pocket and triggering a slide are pretty good.
Old's Cool.
You can thank me in advance for my contribution to Colorado snow-pack. We are heading to Costa Rica\Panama for a month on Monday, and I know from past experience whenever I get on a plane, my local areas (Eldora, IPW, and RMNP) get massive dumps.
So I will be looking at the webcams, knowing I brought the snow with my self-less sacrifice. My pleasure.
Heard the 8" at Beaver Creek was complete bullshit. Same with the Summit resorts.
