Light deep snow today in Telluride. 9 inches reported but it was 12+ on east facing slopes. It warmed up very quickly and snow felt heaver and more dangerous starting around 10:45. Felt like the first day of spring.

Makes me a little sad to see A-Basin get the shaft though (assuming based on the 3" report).

nuked up on the t-bar all day in breck. wouldn't be surprised if they report another 5+ tomorrow morning. one of the deepest days I've ever had out in the bowl. Hit a wind lip above contest bowl up to almost my shoulders. The bigger huck in contest bowl was prime as well! patrol told me they were going to work on imperial today and should be open maybe tomorrow or the weekend.

Alas, gotta head over to SIA tomorrow but I imagine it'd gonna ski excellent up there the next few days.

all I can say is the past few days has been a huge redemption for this winter.

I'd wait and see what the forecast looks like...as of now, it is getting sketchy and with some sustained wind could get dangerously unstable.

    https://avalanche.state.co.us/pub_bc_avo.php?zone_id=2

    Highlights

New snow amounts in the last 24 hours were generally 1-3", but Copper and Breckenridge did a little better with 7" and 10" respectively. Storm totals since Saturday are up to 20" at Breckenridge and Beaver Creek, and even higher in the Gore Range. Strong west and northwest winds will continue to drift the new snow into sensitive slabs at higher elevations today. Small, human-triggered avalanches remain likely in many areas and large avalanches are possible, especially in wind-loaded areas near and above treeline. With the potential for more snow in the forecast today and continued wind drifting, expect avalanche danger to remain elevated for the rest of week.
You should have been here yesterday!

Loveland was killer today; deep snow everywhere and snowed until after Noon, refills all morning, steeps under 1 were skiing well all morning.

With the wind we had yesterday, I was expecting it to be a little worked over, honestly. Boy was I WRONG.
the wind stopped blowing halfway through the night then the snow started cranking. but yeah, the snow was some of the most blower pow I've ever ski'd. like Japan light.

Winds have calmed a bit here and it looks like its still snowing up high. I'm jealous of all you bastards that got to take advantage. Cant take a full day off tomorrow but I'm at least gonna get a lap in at HV and will be at Breck on saturday if anyone else will be there (staying with my dad's fam). Green coat, black pants, grey helmet. Wife will be in purple coat, blue pants.

Anyone get some at Silverton today? I'm headed there tomorrow and would love to hear from someone who hit it today.

I'll be rocking a green Trew jacket and probably Renegades if anyone else is making the trip.

I think someone at vail forget a digit in the snow report. More like 19 than 9. Best day there in 2 years.
I have more skis and bikes than Facebook friends.

Steamboat ftw today. More fun than I have had there in years.

Edit: I don't ski there much.

Psssssh. A-Basin had plenty of boot-top deep pockets, and I was still skiing shots with no tracks on 'em at 2:30p. Maybe not Das Boat deep, but plenty fun. Snowed most of the day, as well. Good times, that.
The older I get, the faster I was.

    Punch it, Chewie.

very good at breck. very very good although without knowing the h2o content, i thought it felt just the slightest bit heavier than our usual blower, still blower, but felt a touch more spongy and keep-you-on-top ish. although i was skiing my 192 chetlers.... so theres that.... also maybe the warming during the day made it like that, but jesus there was still amazing pow at 300.
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

Copper is finally opening more terrain. Resolution Bowl and the steeper terrain off Sierra today, maybe the backside this weekend?
