snow was good at snowmass and highlands...and it looks like people are hitting up the high backcountry in marble, skiing some sick lines up there...snow seems nice and stable thus far
i've definitely enjoyed the nice weather in town the last few days. the ladies of CU have been wearing less clothes, which is always good.
but, ready for the snow to start flying again to soften up those conditions. hopefully, in 15 days I can attempt to get back on the planks. groomers only though![]()
I'm just weird in that I love stormy weather. I prefer it cloudy and cold to warm and sunny
but the girls wearing less clothes on campus... that's a definite plus
ahhhh, the return of winter! Weekend is just so-so but at least a tad cooler and a chance of snow. Next week maybe we can get back on the pain train.

There appears to be tremendous spread amongst the forecasting tools for the incoming storm. Both NOAA and CAIC seem bearish with respect to totals for the NoCo mountains. Sub advisory, 2-5 inch., garden variety type systems.
However, a glance at the forecast from fireweather.info this morning revealed a whole different ballgame. It is forecating two inches of precipitable water for Berthoud Pass and up to 30 inches of snow by Saturday afternoon. Seems kind of somewhat unlikely give the wind direction (270 deg.), but also the general disorganization of the incoming system. Offsetting this, however, is that fireweather is oftentimes the most accurate of the forecasting tools.
If their forecast pans out, Sunday could be $$$.
yes pain train via rehab for me. First PT appointment tomorrow. That being said, I want it to snow, it'll make me feel better I think.

is it warm up there? should we expect some mix in the valleys?
It was relatively warm in Leadville this morning. Didn't even feel like I really even needed a jacket when I left my house for work at 6am.

Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?
fuck that noise.
gmen.

we'll see
Some snow on the ground in East Vail this morning as expected. Probably 2 inches or so, quite wet. It is 7 a.m. and it is already about 31 degrees Farenheit.
Only a dusting of snow at 7850' near Vail (Eagle Vail). Looks like it's snowier closer to Vail and up high...
Almost a half inch of nice, wet snow here. Right around 31 degrees. Like others have said, I hope we get a day of this wet stuff to cover up the old snow, then it cools off and the fluff begins to fall...
Skiing, whether you're in Wisconsin or the Alps, is a dumbass hick country sport that takes place in the middle of winter on a mountain at the end of a dirt road.

Even NOAA is getting into the act now for Blue Sky area on their point forecast...
20+ by Sunday? I am skeptical, but damn I hope they are right.
