I think I actually predicted that Vail might not even open on time due to typical warm dry Novembers with La Nina....I retract that statement. Good opening for the local hill.

Isn't it great how this storm looked impressive a week ago... 3 days ago it looked like very weak for almost all areas.... and now there is an advisory for 4-8" (which has fallen) and a warning tomorrow for another 8-16"?

^^ it's damn amazing. I didn't see anything "big" at all just a few days ago but this NW flow is just freaking awesome.

Steamboat zone sounds like it's getting hammered. A few of the Snotel sites around that area show some good numbers.

My office is downtown (Aspen) and there was a suburban parked outside all day, checked it on my way home around 4:45pm and there was at least 8" stacked up on the bumper.

I can definitely confirm that, yesterday we got simply slammed all day long, and then I woke up to a fresh 6" on my porch down here in town, I shoveled it right before bed. It finally let up for a bit this afternoon but it's supposed to start again shortly.

Ya, the Snotel site your probably looking at is on top of Buff, the base has increased over two feet up there in the past week. I'm going up there with sleds to get my first turns in on Wednesday, and its looking like it'll be a perfect bluebird day for that, I can't freaking wait! I'll be sure to post some pics up here.

Gotta love La Nina around these parts!! This is an awesome start to the season.

Today; Vail Pass - Snowed all day and was quite deep. Mega-faceshots.

    Pit: 6" of bonded granular
    6" of four-finger
    20" of blower

It looks like this next burst is moving at a quick clip, but I like how it's coming with a cold front. Hoping the winds don't get too bad tomorrow, I have a feeling it'll be another stormy day that keeps us below treeline though.

And hopefully Thurs/Fri aren't as HOT as NOAA is predicting... 39/38 @ 11,000' !? The snow was super-dry today, and I can see it deflating quick in that kind of heat.

After the big drought, probably 2002-2003, It snowed way more in October and November than this year. They opened Vail early. It definitely included all of mid-vail, North Woods, plus High Line/Blue Ox. The Back Bowls opened really early that year also, but I can't remember when...

great stuff Goatski....north facing? I've seen some rot up there on east thru south aspects and some north. If it does get warm, it'll help settle everything for a couple of days before we crank again.

WWA for North Central Mountains through Wednesday morning. 5-10 expected. Again, Fireweather is putting those amounts a bit higher (10-15).

Breck opening T-bar tomorrow, earliest opening in 49 yr history.

Man I hope this pattern keeps coming. I'm stoked when we get snow in November or May last year, but I really want some fresh snow in January for a change.

DP may be in order, but be careful. All this wind, and this HEAVY snow is great conceptually, but I admit I may be settling for some Loveland recycled pow tomorrow to see how the snow is moving around.

The Thunder-Snow in that warning sounds fun .

a-basin webcams are as "whited out" as I've ever seen them. Looks like the cold front is passing through summit county.

Heard reports of 4-5 feet up by Steamboat on Buffalo Pass.

Snowing and blowing like a mothafucka in Dillon. Pass and basin were great today, even got in a beavers lap. Tomorrow should be good. Wind loading will be off the charts!

Holy Chit! never seen anything come in so fast. It's nukajawea in downtown Denver, was "mostly cloudy" about 15 minutes ago. Good thing the snow tires are now affixed to the wagon.
