    Also, interesting lightning/thunder mid-snow on Saturday...ThunderPOW!

Dry week coming up. Pleased to see the 4-8" report from the Never Summers...seems on the high side but it's good to know.

Blog updates everyday over at http://www.coloradopowderforecast.com/ in case you're bored during an "off" week.

Loveland Pass had plenty of snow yesterday. No crust on the E aspect above Pass Lake, strong snowpack for the most part, very prevalent spatial variabilty though.

Edit: my shot made it to CPF today - schweet!

Thanks for all the updates Joel

looks like the 9th/10th should see some snowfall in the mountains and possibly even Denver? Should be a nice shot in the arm at least.

It doesn't look like a big one right now, but hopefully it's the beginning of a pattern change for us with the high over the Southwest breaking down.

    Maybe?

The high pressure starts to break down for sure around the start of next week, it will get colder and a better chance of snow. I'd still expect it to remain warm and dry overall thru Nov. The overall pattern will change, but I don't think it is ready to change yet.

Snowstorm in the mountains looks good for early next week. Snowstorm in the cities east of the divide is very uncertain. The details:

Thinking of heading up to A basin tomorrow before heading out of town for a bit. I know it'll be crap, but does anyone know if it will be total crap (not worth the gas) or just regular crap?

    worst question I've ever read.

It's mostly man made snow and only the bottom mountain open. Better than working.

    Touche...

I have my fingers crossed for this bit of snow early next week, and as everyone has mentioned it is at LEAST going to get colder.
You should have been here yesterday!

    Same thing here.

So Gratz, should my impending sickness grow strongest next Tuesday or Wednesday if I'm not diving any further West than Vail pass?

That's cool... what's your point? I'm stoked on the weather, I go to school for meteorology and this thread gives a lot of good info, I just enjoy chiming in. Sorry that I'm younger and wear "steezy" clothing or whatever you want to call it. I happen to think it looks good, I didn't grow up in the 40's like you and wear only clothes based on functionality.

You sir, can kindly fuck off.

I too am feeling a dry November coming on. That damn jetstream should just relocate to the Mexican border already.

I'm stoked because so far this is just like the last La Nina winter. That year we got a good size dump in October, before Halloween, then it went crazy dry and warm. It was sunny and 60 on Turkey day that year then the 1st week of December all hell broke loose and it didn't stop til May. I'll ski the WROD and only the WROD all day if it means deep deep pow once winter really starts.

It's also just like last year...except for the all hell breaking loose part...which didn't happen till April.
