Should be a lull in the snow tonight/Tue AM so Loveland Pass likely closed until around sunrise Tues.

Yeah, except both East and West are closed. Looks like I will be paying for Loveland again, still not bad.

You can still take I-70 to US 6 through Silverthorne to get to A-Basin. Closing US 6/Loveland Pass does not close off access to A-Basin

I am not sure if he realizes this, but is he trying to say I70 east and west are closed?

I understand it as he is saying US 6 is closed east bound(from Silvethorne) and West bound from Loveland.

Looking on cotrip.org US 6 from Silverthorne to Loveland is colored black for adverse conditions. It also has two closed symbols on it. I could see how someone could interpret it as all of US 6 being closed.

They're blasting the 7 sisters east of Loveland in the morning so 6 will be closed from Loveland to (probably) the CDOT building uphill from A-Basin. It would be nice if they left access open from A-Basin to the top of the pass for some Pass Lake shots, but I doubt it.

I apologize for the confusion/fuck up. Here is what I was looking at and I meant US 6 East and West, as was deciphered from my detail-challenged message above.

Just interpreted this as no access to A-Basin since it lies slightly inside the 'road closure' icons.

I just have to ask, do you actually feel qualified to be out there?
haha, I'm a broke college kid with hardly any money, and I'm relatively new to the BC. I have taken classes, and am trained but just have no gear yet. Probably only going for areas around HHA, so I'm sure I'll be fine. thanks for your douchebaggery though!

Wolf creek is reporting 10" from yesterday's storm with a 14" base.

Let's hope it's another mid November opening date

Supposedly at Vail Patrol HQ this AM. After today few hour burst of 1"/hr snow, might be in shape to skin Vail in the AM?

That pic was in a drift and heard the summit didn't see a ton more than the 12 at mid. I might skin uber early before work...just for exercise and see what it looks like. I'll bet they'll pull the cats out to try and preserve that pretty soon.

The skiing was remarkably good, as mostly one's skis/board stayed in the top 6-10", and it was silky and delightfully carvable snow.

More this, less craptacular road condition respew.

    Thanks smitchell

    Berthoud Pass???

Anybody peeped Berthoud??? It looks like CDOT just put up chain restrictions that doesn't happen all that often. THe Snotel site at the summit is not reporting accurately.

I was up there today. They closed the pass for about 2 hours 'cause I guess some trucked rolled but it cleared out. Didn't have a probe so not sure the exact measurement, but pretty much allllll day it was knee to thigh deep. I was in the trees skiers right of HHA all day. epic day to say the least. Going to post a few shitty camera phone pics in the berthoud photo thread here soon.
