I don't know how any other ski area in Colorado could of been busy today. Wolf creek was slammed. Busiest day I have ever seen here. 10 minutes to get from the top of wolf creek pass into the parking lot. Cars lined almost to the snow shed on south fork side. Over 40 people waiting for the horseshoe bowl cat. These skiers are like this is great. Are areas are like this all the time. Seriously why would you even ski when you put up with shit like that. The owner of the area was out in the lot parking cars.

When the alternative is errands in park meadows and a stop at Costco, 4 hr drive and lift lines ain’t so bad.

I was at wolf yesterday. Seemed like everyone was pow hungry front rangers opposed to the normal tx/ok contingent. Assuming the steeps opened today and got hammered. Guess I’ll find out tomorrow. It’s been a rough season down here eh? Glad they got some business out of the storm. Friends in Steamboat told me there were 20k people on the mtn last Saturday.

Huge southern storm lining up on a holiday weekend? Not surprised every sprinter in Denver drove down to wolf creek. Silverton has been busier than any other weekend all season, just the way it goes sometimes

    Colorado Weather Discussion Thread

And a TGR thread about Colorado Ski Conditions with [emoji640][emoji638]k replies has nothing to do with lift lines. [emoji6]

Nice to finally have the snowpack going in the right direction and vastly improved conditions. Sloppy 2nds after the fray will be very good.

I used a free fast tracks day yesterday at Copper, seemed like the thing to do. But loading at center village at 830am wasn't really that useful. Please educate me what to ski for that half hour. I did head into the woods, I guess it would be lower lower enchanted forest...

Once the rest of the mountain opened the fast tracks lane was helpful, especially for storm king. Hallelujah was fun, bumps were almost nonexistent. But the deepest best turns I got were both upper enchanted and spalding, not sure how both sides could be so deep since they are opposites.

Many people (me included) had some serious powder fever...hopefully we can enjoy lots of days of deep turns.

all the front range, summit crowd should be proud of yourselves. You set a record yesterday. Most cars ever parked at Wolf Creek. Just to show how appreciative Wolf Creek was of your business the owner parked your cars than went up and drove the snowcat to enhance your experience.

I did the same today with the free fast tracks. Didn’t know they groomed all the runs from Eagle. So I went into those lower lower woods. Descent powder.
Fast tracks saved me easily an hour of lift lines. I did know Storm King had a fast track lane. That line was stupid long

Elkhound Odin - yeah Bouncer wasn't groomed earlier in the season - I was hoping at least for some powder bumps. I feel like there's a good way to ski those lower woods but I was pretty impatient...usually don't ski trees first thing on a powder morning.

Heard there was a natural avy above near Officer’s Gulch today. Did it cross the road? Very similar to that crazy storm cycle years ago!

Absurd, amazing, phenomenal day at WP. was absolutely hammering down snow most of the day. Skied until my legs were screaming, still didn't want to stop. My 2023 custom Billygoats are an absolute cheat code, can hardly believe what those skis allow me to get away with. Tomorrow should be another deep one, still hammering at the base.

Amazing day at Abasin. Nobody could get there for a while. But also it was bloody impossible to leave when I needed to in a hurry.

Someone got VERY lucky today on VP.

I read that a couple hours ago and was trying to explain the mathematical probabilities to someone. I know that area so so well. If Ptarm rips, Shrine is next and vice versa. Always have eyes on and never miss obvious visual clues, especially if you don't know how to use a bacon finder. So so so so lucky. And I'm glad they are around to spread the word. I just got home and it's like a Friday night shit show on a Monday. I thought I was in the clear to poke my turtle head out in public, but no. So many idiots.

And team Hak10 FTW. I can't tell you how many (maybe over 100 times in the last 4 days) those tires have saved my ass and made it like I was in HS smoking a blunt behind the wheel. I don't think I'll ever buy another winter tire. I'm on probably my last season (3) on this set, and I would support Trump just buying the entire factory so I could have them for life. I got some ralley lights in the back of my car I need to wire up, but damn, they so make me want to WRC even in the shittiest conditions, like glare ice over packed pow, or ice ruts, or gnawing through deep refrozen slush over my bumper. They are the Explosiv's of tires.

Imperial didn't open again today, I'm sure some wind will come in tonight but it's gonna be loaded fat.

What a storm, 37" reported in a few days but easily 50"+ up high

Waist/stomach deep snow in Stone Creek today. I only wish I tagged it earlier in the day before the sun came out.
    Still super juicy back there.
