Sure, well done on the repairs..., but the quick fix and approval of this doesn't inspire a ton of confidence; how is cracked steel not an engineering/design issue? This doesn't just happen.

They changed the name of the Eskimo a few years ago because it was insensitive (it's now the Explorer). They also changed the name of the trail Feebleminded at the Jane to "Branch Line" in the last couple years for sensitivity (its the one off Riflesight; although I'm surprised they haven't renamed Riflesight). Pioneer is now the Wild Spur [insert joke here]. And, yeah THE Gondola is just lame. Will it still be THE Gondola if they ever build the Gondola from Town? It's sad to lose names like Zephyr that are a big part of the history of the ski area and its railroad theme. There was a fixed triple Zephyr there before the infamous Zephyr Express hi speed quad that thE GoNDoLA replaced.

Copper was skiing remarkably well this weekend considering the lack of new snow. And NO crowds.
High altitude and low sun angle for the win. Hopefully a pattern change coming.

Skied around the east side at copper for a couple hours this afternoon. Wanted to head over to Tucker but lily g isn’t open yet and I did a hard no at flyer when I saw the line, crowds are definitely mostly over on that side. Spaulding bowl skied great, smooth carvy chalk.

    Yawn...lift names

Marketing gets less juice if you don't rename it so here we are. The good news is you can call them whatever you want. I'd say locally the preferred terms are

    C Chair/Little Lift
    Super Gay/Gauge/Six Pack/Big Lift
    Horse
    VR/Pio/Vasquez
    Eskimo
    The Rope
    Oly

So just like tree runs and other locations on the mountain their is the official name, the patrol/mountain ops. name on the "logistics test" and whatever the fuck name you and your homies call shit. Its part of what makes the culture of a place.

But Fuck Yeah Mechanics and Poma. Our shitty conditions are better that most other shitty conditions. We'll see about this next set rolling through.

most of it is just like raft guides that got nothing better to do that name every rock and ripple in the river. But Wanker Pancake is strange. There are fairly important routes on the mountain that have no official name. And other than, "follow up" you kinda need names to talk about where are we going.

    Cowards Traverse
    Backside Traverse

    and, of coarse, 810 Cut

Sober Englishman is the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard, but I guess it's friendlier than Do or Die.

I love knowing all the names from the logistics test. Been teaching my friends and family for years and it makes things easier.

Quiz time: If you start at sunspot and traverse to the Jane, what tower of the Challenger can you get to without going uphill?

No idea: do or die>pony rd.>dog patch but I've never tried from there

If I was parked in Corona I'd just go to the HiLo

What are the Mario Kart trees, kids seemed to have latched on to that one.

    Where is the Ice Trail?

It's more of a "lifts are down and we need to get somewhere" scenario. Tower 8 is the answer.

Mario Kart trees might be Hi Lo trees, but I'm not sure. The kids are all calling that Star Wars trees now. Apparently there's a new hut in there, again.

I haven't heard Ice Trail, but the Ice Traverse goes from the top of the last face of Phantom Bridge over to Railbender. Look for the red square on a tree, if it's still there.

Is that even enough for a beer or hot spiced rum to warm up?

At least Eldora gave me a free day ticket to bring a friend the time I was stuck for an hour in the wind!!!

I heard you heard wrong. But yeah, "Fuck that Place!". Get an Epic next year. I went out this morning. I thought it was pretty good. The groomers were money and the off piste was better than expected.

But did you post on Facebook or IG about it? If not, it doesn’t count.

I've been on the afternoon crew the last few days, it's been fun. Even skied in the trees a little!

I also got heckled from the lift today because I wasn't making tele turns.

This warms my heart. Make lift heckles great again! Sounds like you are most of the way towards "fix your binding, fix your problem". You'll have a moment one day when you realized you haven't made a telemark turn in a few weeks.

Judging from the first chair line up at the Gondi, no fucks given by the basic bitches that go find a line and get in it. Pro tip: Arrow>Eskimo but yeah, as Underoos says, work on your logisitics and rule the mountain. It can make to sense and is not on the maps or the signs.

For example, best way to VR is via the Prospecter to skip the flats in the Oly Hole. edit: Tin Horn...has to look it up.

But yeah, go skiing. Have fun.

Oh, I think I have had those moments already, but never ever giving up the broken heels.

Didn’t see anyone bring it up but Denver had rain on Xmas. Can’t say I remember that happening in my time here.
