One thing is for sure. It will piss people off. I am hoping for a year of massive losses, huge drop in skier visits, despite copious snowfall. Shuttering all on mountain restaurants. Any and all improvements put on hold, and firing of all upper management. Causing Alterra to back out of the purchase.

I mean, it really is the only that can save the place.

What's funny about that is how chill saturdays in breck were last season, the massive jump from epic to ikon is largely real right now. The basin was a zoo most of the time on saturdays, fuck getting a pass there next year since I can't get over there on weekdays most of the time.

So everyone should boycott ABasin like they should boycott the Rockies?

Hopefully everyone will just go back to crowding Breck.

Anyone heading to Winter Park/Grand County from the Front Range before next Wednesday?

Trying to sell a bike rack to someone up there.

Selling Abasin to IKON just seems whack.

The legacy of a multinational real estate investment firm? It's not like the basin was family-owned before the Alterra sale.

Their parking FAQs says parking reservations will go on sale in the fall. Each person can have 2 reservations at a time. Each week more reservations will open up for the following weekend. Hopefully that will help from people hoarding reservations?

If it was anything like COVID reservation, the hoard and cancel game will be strong.

Is was annoying and you did have to be a vigilant app money, but reservations we always available.

It does rely on there being teeth to the no show penalty. The plate scanning technology works great at the airport.

Some friends use a service called CampNab to jump on campsite reservations that get canceled, I wonder if someone will create something like that for parking reservations? I mean I get it, parking reservations at a ski hill are maybe super niche right now, but as more and more ski hills move to this model maybe there's a 'need' for this kind of app.

    Punch it, Chewie.

On July 9, head to this page up to 15 minutes before passes go on sale (between 9:45 a.m. and 9:59 a.m.). You will be entered into a queue to purchase a pass.

When you have reached the top of the queue you will be asked to log back into your account and may proceed with the purchasing process.

Once you add it to your cart, you’ll have 7 minutes to complete checkout before the parking pass gets released back to other purchasers.

So I have to log in then log back in. Got it. Anyways guess I’ll be trying for this on Tuesday, hopefully I don’ forget then hopefully the reservations are not tough to come by during the season..

Beavers climbing trail (forget the actual name) is now open 3/4 to the top and easily climbable, maybe faster even though it is longer. Pretty nice being able to actually make most of the climb again. Used to be able to do the whole thing up the road in my 20's but that was a loooong time ago. Downhill is fun, and really milks it with some fun berms and jumps. Need to ride it a few more times to really get it dialed though.

Nice. Was never a fan of the road to the top. Need to ride the trail in the near future.

Looks like they are planning to continue the climbing trail to the top too. Which is good because that last push up the hill is a bitch.

Also, there were Ebikes allowed apparently, which you can't really say wouldn't be nice on climbs like that. Haven't sen them banned on Abasin or Keystone yet.

Appears enough is burning in the west the smoke is going to start picking up, could be a long summer on that front.

Had a great stay in wild basin this weekend, planned summit of Mt Alice didn't go for various reasons I won't lament further but still hard to beat waking up in this place. Once you get past the throngs who don't know theres anything past ouzel falls, each of the drainages offer up something worth seeing.

    Ghetto Creek

Does the bear proof roll off make it better or worse? I feel that placing a bag a trash next to a full dumpster is kinda standard protocol? These are not outdoorsy people, this is more like a festival.

Saturday and Sunday you can toss your garbage in Fraser https://www.frasercolorado.com/306/F...You-Throw-Tras

I'm guessing its all single use plastics, processed food packaging, paper plates and towels?
