The Sentinel satellite takes images every ~5 days. I use caltopo premium to view it but you can also use sentinel-hub which is free but a little harder to use and I don’t think you can layer topos there. And it’s ‘lucky’ that a) the satellite came by yesterday and b) there wasn’t cloud cover on Jones.

I’ll answer my question. Crowds were not an issue at all. It seems max crowds were right at open to 11:00 but manageable for early season. After that just a handful of people in the lift corral. We stopped in west wing and were the only people in there, not a single concession was sold from what I could tell. Snow was what you’d expect. My girls were stoked to only ski blues. Needs to snow.

Thanksgiving Day is a go at Eldora for future reference. Thanks for reading my blog brought to you by Solo Stove.

copper was a total shit show wednesday afternoon, but flyer opens at some point today they are saying so early next week I am hoping for chill crowds and nice cruisers.

Good to see the price of the daily lunch special at Wolf Creek stayed the same. Looks like they reduced the size of the desserts by 10%.

its been good i have been getting off the groomers to hit fresh on the sides of runs. Have not ventured into the trees. Alberta is supposed to open today and I imagine he will open the entire mountain. Skied The little face on Treasure a few times yesterday. Clipped a few too many rocks so moved on. I dont think I would ski anything off any of the hikes yet. May go up in awhile but not sure if I want to push my luck in the number chutes but I imagine the meadow sections after the steep pitches will be pretty fun. I would wait till after the next storms but I did talk to a guy from Empire in the lot and he was smiling.

Bumping this now that the holiday is over and I'm more able to try to get this to NR.

I'll be driving through from Lafayette back to Silverton late next week (8th or 9th), but might have a completely full truck of stuff for work. If you haven't found someone by then PM me.

I wished the snow was a little less firm and there was more terrain, but it was a perfectly beautiful day. Snow guns full on. A patroller chatted about the difficulty of running a rig down ptarmigan, can you imagine? I did one run on it a week ago, bulletproof same as ever, but now super b is running and there's a decision to make. Maybe I'll wait for Hallelujah or at least the next storm...
