This one hurts too much. This is not how it's supposed to be.

    RIP Magnus.

Carnage at white ranch. Storm cell this week flooded Belcher and it's a trench at the bottom

And Belcher was so fun to begin with.

Posted elsewhere, but just a PSA to anyone visiting Crested Butte, we won't have a grocery store for the next 4 months so you might want to bring your own groceries. https://crestedbuttenews.com/2023/08...major-remodel/

welp three days of insane rain with a quick monsoon surge and now back to dry for a bit. Hope a few more surges come through.

On monday there was a good 3-5 inches of hail at the top of hoosier pass, was pretty gnarly.

Still so lush in the Front Range foothills. I’ll take it.

First red flag warning over 9k in the San Juan's starting today, no fire ban yet but soon maybe? We had bursts of rain during the last week but damn is it hot and dry. So glad we had that huge snowpack, but it's starting to get a little to crisp for my liking.

Rode the beavers trail up at the basin this weekend and it’s pretty sweet. Great mix of some flow, little drops if you so choose, small jumps and some somewhat technical rocky sections. The climb in the middle is a little annoying but like you know it’s coming so it isn’t that bad. Overall very impressed with what they did there. Road still sucks from bml so the up trail will be welcomed when that’s complete.

Nice, been meaning to check that out. When are they planning on completing the climbing trail to the top?

Maybe sometime next year? Not exactly sure when they’ll get that done but I do know this one is all being done in house whereas the downhill trail they had outside help. That and going through some wetland areas could make the process a bit slower.

I rode that trail with a buddy up this past week as well between storms (originally planned for Lenawee) and wow, that trail is rad! Maybe it was a combo of the rain, tacky dirt and full-on double rainbows, but I loved it! Great flow, perfectly sized small jumps and some short chunky spots for good measure. Trail has it all.

Also, summit county has great dirt! Just soaks up the rain, got tacky but not muddy. Small sample size but the evening storms made for some superb riding all last week. I can see why all of texas loves breckenridge!

Can't wait for a better climbing trail to the top. I've probably climbed that road 50 times over the years and I hate it every time. Need to get up and ride the beavers trail and a few others.

35 at my house right now. It's still a bit hot for me but I'll take it. I usually just stand outside in my PJ right when I get up just to be cold.

Also, its been a pretty classically rainy summer here. There is really no brown anywhere.

It's kind of brown here. Guess that happens when it never rains. .62" since June 1, this has easily been the driest summer that I can remember.

Edit- I sure am glad it isn't winter. .6" by early August would be like 8 or 9" of snow by early February, something like that?

We've been lucky with a few extra days of rain here in Breck vs what I've seen south of us. Even this week there's been little pop up showers and none of the trails are really that dusty again yet. Looks like another surge this weekend into monday though.

Just in time for the madness of the Breck Epic, my shop has 16 racers lined up for service packages for the week. I'm also racing stages 4-6 this year, yeehaw.

Um... Wheeler feeds right into Miners. Make the right turn before you end up at Copper

Do the loop clockwise coming back on Peaks trail

i thought he was talking Wheeler Geological area to Miners Creek out side of Creede. I have been looking at rides in that area. There is a little section of wilderness but I was more interested how much deadfall you would deal with. Pretty sure not much traffic out there.

Wheeler Geologic Area is awesome, but it's all wilderness there except for the road, I believe

CT to Miner's is a great ride with a huge shuttle. Miner's is usually in OK, but not great shape
