    Colorado Weather Discussion Thread

A woman called 9-1-1 driving through Clear Creek, asking to be connected with Boulder to report seeing flames in her yard on her security cameras.

    I have no words.

We have a spare room in Georgetown for anyone in need.

As I walked home, I thought about the people working dispatch, potentially being demoralized by being completely overwhelmed, then all the first responders, then the people losing everything. Fucking brutal.

Heartwrenching. In December no less. I am kind of speechless. Vibes to all of those affected.

Prayers for our brothers taking this kick in the nuts. We definitely have a couple spare rooms here in the Springs if anyone needs to evacuate this way. Plenty of spare clothes, gear, etc if anyone needs it. Seriously let me know if anyone needs anything at all.

Pretty emotional watching this and I am 80 miles away. I really feel for you all up there.

I've watched this video several times.

The guy that filmed this is an asshole. He watched (and he caught it on video) as women and children tried to force the doors open against the wind. He didn't do anything to help other than filming it. Then he actually gets away from the entrance faster than his kid -- at least he goes back for the kid...

After thinking about it some: Maybe he's just a fucking, clueless wimp.

I think I heard him say, "I guess we are locked in". Then the smarter woman puts 2+2 together and realizes it's the wind.

The wind in south Boulder has finally calmed down. I hope that others in the area are safe.

Rolling blackouts due to natural gas infrastructure being affected by the fires. Winter Park/MJ bases and mountain have been dark since 7:30. Town still appears to have power.

Yes I'm afraid so, one of the 9 News reporter is on Coalton and Rock Creek Circle, with houses on fire in that neighborhood.

Crazy out there. Just got back to our house in the north end of the evacuation zone and our immediate neighborhood is still intact. So many homes still on fire on the other side of s. Boulder road its nuts. So sad for those people.

I have never seen wind like today’s in Boulder. Drove down from WP this morning to check on my house and a friend’s. All safe thankfully. North and others, if I (or we) can do anything to help out please let us know.

Also Kinnikinnick be aware that the resolution on those cells is either 375 meters or 1 kilometer so don't take those as an awful sign if your home is covered under one. I've seen Forest Service hand piles being burned being detected before so they can be pretty sensitive as well.

Also those are gathered from satellite passes around ever 6 hrs so they are typically fairly out of date.

    Good luck to you!

Unbelievable. I just saw a headline about wildfires in Colorado and thought I must be seeing a story that was several months old. Stay safe, Coloradans!
