Snow laden clouds parked atop the Divide, and a plume of smoke from a burning city, all from the same vantage point. I'm fine never seeing this again.
Vibes North, I hope things work out.

Channel 7 Denver has some incredible live footage on their front page. I'm so sorry for everyone affected.

Feeling for you and all the Superior area mags and non mags. In JH for some cold turns, and watching this back in CO is surreal.

North - hope your house still stands.

This is nothing compared to many of the posts above, but my neighbor’s tree just fell on my house in Golden. Thankfully only damage appears to be to eaves and a fence that was in need of replacement anyway.

    from that story, the sheriff:

He said by their initial estimates, about 370 homes in the Sagamore Subdivision have been lost, which is west of Superior. Potentially 200 homes in Old Town in Superior are "gone," he said. The Target Shopping Complex and Element Hotel are also destroyed.

600 homes and he described the fire as essentially not at all contained, right?

They can't do shit. You have 40' walls of fire moving at 80-100 mph. They are just trying to get east of it and get people out.

Winds are too high to fly as well.

Exactly. I've been listening to the scanner and they asked police units to not bother reporting structures on fire unless it's in a new neighborhood or area because there isn't shit they can do about it. They're just trying to get everyone out, at this point.

So incredibly tragic. Vibes to everyone impacted
And we just can't flip from wind to snow fast enough - but just heard that snow is now forecasted for late morning, and now 5-10" in boulder area, less further south. At least big winds are forecasted to subside 11ish tonight

Fuck man. There's just no words.

And I can't help but think of all the people who weren't even able to make it home to grab important things, it all happened so fast. So many beloved pets will be lost.

This is horrible to watch. I am far from the area in South Fork. If anyone affected by this finds themselves needing a place to go I can accommodate a family of 4 and pets.
