At some point all of us Abasin season pass holders need to have a beach day meeting and discuss the fact that we should treat this whole thing like fight club to “Preserve the Culture”. But yeah, this season is turning out to be pretty fucking amazing at the center of the universe.

Looking like beach day weather Sunday and Monday for a safety meeting. Oh wait, it’s always a beach day…

Turbo/west turbo rope drop late yesterday was solid. Luckily no team summit groups were nearby.

I've been in the same notoriously windy spot in south Boulder for over 26 years, and this is the worst I can remember. Everything is shaking so much I'm concerned I'm going to lose a window or the roof -- and a medium-sized tree blew over behind my townhouse -- thankfully it was on the downwind side. My thoughts are with all the folks in Superior. Louisville, and Broomfield and any other areas downwind of the fire.




Edited to add: I just went out and closed the garage door of a dumbfuck neighbor that left it open -- we lost the roof of a garage building years ago in a windstorm when someone left their garage door open.

I happened to be in Boulder when the evacuation of Superior happened and couldn’t get back home. This is at the corner of McCaslin and Via Appia. The wind is so bad it’s spreading small fires all over the place

Jesus. The homes in that neighborhood just south of Superior as you near 128, just watched live footage of fire breach a fence and now the homes are starting to catch fire. No resources to fight even though news crews are there, just horrendous.

I evac’d around noon. Did not get the text from emergency services Went from “something seems weird” to time to go in less than 5min. Grabbed my wallet and that’s it. Almost didn’t grab that.

Sitting in traffic while smoke obscures everything further than 20ft out is not a situation I’d wish on anybody. I’m not rattled easily. I was rattled.

I am a “house behind target” superior guy. We assume it’s gone.

I’m all good on places to stay BTW.

So weird to be here in a 100" storm cycle while that's happening in Superior and Lousville. We have a rental (mtnbikerskierchick's old home) just outside the evacuation area near Waneka Lake. Hopefully our tenants are OK as is the townhome. Not really windy here at all, just dumping.
