I want to say yes. The whole time it was only because they couldn't fully groom Pika (the run directly next to it) which has to be open for the people that fall off and need to exit.

In other news, Loveland skied very well yesterday. Although I can't believe patrol hasn't even taken a look at the ridge yet, it's thin in spots but very loaded in others, plenty of mitigation work could be started.

Talking to quite a few loveland employees about openings, sounds like it's all the Patrol Director just being extremely conservative even though his employees want to get out there.

I saw what looked like mitigation on patrol bowl during my post-work tour. Couple of grey-bomb spots and a small slide.

Friday’s are just always busy now, storm could be hyped enough for a decent line up Thursday morning though. I probably won’t be able to get out tomorrow and will hit it Friday morning as well

Wouldn’t it be nice if it snowed enough to cover all the rocks and twigs? I mean, at this point, that’s all I’m asking for. More would certainly be welcomed though. Just trying not to get my hopes up.

Fucking Simple! One day he'll show up at the trailhead 7 dabs deep pulling an 850 turbo with some Euro wagon with a stage 2 wearing full roadie cod piece eating a tofu chimichanga rocking some Wu Tang and the world will tilt off access.

Wagons are so 2001. I'll be rocking the twin turbo Raptor with LED glow in the wheel wells.

If you're going to Copper, you can ski with me. Otherwise we can compare notes here - I have my theory that I don't want to spout off until after the day...

I'd like to add that it is snowing FAT flakes here in Leadville right now. Just lovely!

I feel like the season is turning the corner, finally.

Anyone with beta on a place to sleep for the night around Sunlight? Thinking of skiing there a few days this weekend. Pretty stealthy minivan setup.

Walmart is right on 82, near the Sunlight turn off.
Up 4 mile would be more private.

    Sunlight’s probably a good call.

Drive up to Sunlight then keep going up the service road. You will come to a large snowmobile parking lot with signs that say no overnight camping. I drove up a bit further to a wide point on the forest service road and camped there no issues. It is a nice shoulder and backcountry skiers parked next to me in the morning for dawn patrol laps.

Thanks to you and Shredhead. I was wondering if that road (4 mile?) was maintained in winter. May dawn patrol Sat/Sunday to get the pup tired before skiing. Looks like some n. facing mellow glades on the hill just W of Sunlight.

It's already too late in the season for that to happen on any aspect that catches sun.

I'm sorry for everyone's loss in Eagle County. I knew one of the victims and this is absolutely devastating for so many people.
