I'm not sure where I'm headed yet

I was at Jay yesterday. You could "ski" all of the woods lines.

    From Jay

"We’re still expecting the storm to hit and forecasters are still saying 2-3 FEET of snow from the main storm on Sunday’s and backlash snows Monday and Tuesday. You can stay tuned for updates but really, you should just make a point of being here because you know you’re going to be sad if you miss the first big storm of the season."

i dont live in the area but the weather reports are saying up to 14 inches in town (north troy) with upslope two feet is certainly possible on the mountain with the main storm and i guess some more is possible with back lash and clipper coming wednesday and thursday.

still can't decide what to do Monday

Ideally I'd be at Jay/Stowe like everyone else but I'm flat broke and pressed for time

I've got a K-mart pass but with my luck they'll be on windhold and will have 10-20 ambassaors patolling the parking lots with Uzi's preventing anyone from hiking

    Anybody skied MRG lately?

MRG isn't open yet. Bush was open today with 12 trails, 2 lifts. no idea about stowe. smuggs had 17 trails off of sterling?

nothing on Mt. wash is skiable yet. check the avi reports:

Falling temperatures will result in the Summit staying below 0 F for the day on Saturday and steady westerly winds will accompany the cold temperatures which will make us all snuggle into our parkas and embrace the season. This past week brought scattered snow showers to the mountains with limited accumulation. Winds have been able to blow what snow there is into the Ravines but bed surfaces are still very limited. In Huntington some small thin ribbons exist primarily in O'Dells and Central which will offer a bed surface for new loading, but will be quite isolated in nature. Tuckerman also has limited snowfields. As is the usual early season scenario, Left Gully contains the largest bed surfaces and is the most likely candidate for avalanche activity. The Chute is a slight runner up and is worthy of watching as well. Other isolated small pockets currently exist in both Ravines. In addition to the issues already discussed, another factor to watch is snow being deposited on developing water ice. This is a normal early season concern. Ice is forming rapidly and provides an ideal bed surface for future avalanches. Keep reading for more information and don't let small pockets of snow lull you into complacency. The next sizeable snow event appears to be Sunday night into Monday. We'll keep an eye on it and let you know how it develops.
from the webcams recently, nothing looked skiable, but then again, it was hard to tell today:

Unless MRG opens on Monday I'll most likely be at Jay with a small chance of showing up at Stowe. Red HH jacket skiing on either Thugs, Ants or Bros and in a group of 4. Soul_skier, if we end up at Stowe you down to play tour guide for a little bit?

I'll be at Mt. Snow tomorrow and maybe monday. Black jacket, red pants. With two snowboarders. Ask for change.

most of the lines we play on in/around/downhill from the quad don't have room for more than 4 bombholes, we had 6 today and people were landing on solid ice. However, on monday morning we are planning on hiking over to gondolier and playing on some cliffs over ther, just so many options that don't even involve hucking, and with wind loading it should be really, really deep. Problem is we have to be back for class at 12:20, so we will be leaving at 11am sharp, probably starting to hike over there around 9:15/9:30

we will be recognizable, i still have the same yellow jacket and will be on moment comis, and the rest of our crew will be on spatulas, big daddies, 189 squads or bluehouses

no word from the addision county crew, so we might be heading to jay. But all three are still a posibility. Black patagucci, and florecent green kincos on the jimmy deans. as for skis, i don't know?

Jay Peak has some crazy early season lodging deals. I just got a ski in/ski out, 3 bedroom condo on the mountain for 4 dudes. Including lift tickets it worked out to be $62 each. We were going to pay $50 just to ski.
