i'm looking for some help on a foam alternative. i'm in need of some new footbeds at the very least, and need to go to surefoot. i've talked to them in the past about curing my boot problem and they seem to think i need foam. i've got somewhat wide forefoot, skinny ankles and skinny calves. i've found that the salomon xwave fits my foot the best. i skied them last year and liked them pretty well. problem is now the liner is getting packed out and again i have slop in my ankle area. to try to cure this, i have to crank down the top buckles which makes the boot deform and not flex properly. my feet also loose circulation very quickly.
i've been mostly on the kite skiing program, so performance isn't much of an issue, although when i do ski downhill and backcountry, i ski very agressively and want the support to do what i want to. basically, i need a superboot. or, more specifically a super liner. i'm worried that foam will be too stiff to make kiteskiing comfortable (you are mostly in the backseat and ski very two footed and don't use much forward lean) and i've heard they are cold. kiteskiing, you are often out for over and hour at a time before you take a break so it's not like i can crank the buckles down and then let my feet rest on the chairlift up. is there an alternative to foam that will give me warmth, custom fit that will last more than a season, and not be too stiff? i did a search and found someting called an intuition liner, but all the threads are from 05 or so.
any other boot advise for my situation?
