This just in..........
President Bush is an idiot. He can't even remember the titles of his cabinet members.
That had to be the most painful press conference I've even witnessed.

KQ, I hate the guy as much as you do, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THIS IS A SKIING FORUM. PLease post this crap someplace else. It's beyond getting old.

you sketchy character, you
I would agree with most of the politico threads but that press conference was so monumentally bad it deserves to be sprayed about everywhere. Even a skiing forum.
Years later you can look back and say. "I remember bitching about that with some lawyer chick from Seattle with big boobies." History in the making I tell ya.
Uhhhhhhhh LOOK I don't start political threads as often as others. Most the time I'm just responding just like everyone else so go bitch at all the other ppl who do it and while you're at it.........take a sampling of the majority of threads that were started yesterday (and the day before).Originally posted by meatdrink9

Bottom line - no one is forcing you to read threads. Take some personal responsibility and remember, replying only pushes it back up to the top.
BTW - Our President is an idiot and his policies WILL effect your enjoyment of the outdoors so in a way it does relate.

Why not just ignore it?

Yeah, I guess that would be the other option, but who wants to do that when it can be bitched about.Originally posted by KQ

I for one think the political threads are fairly interesting. I certainly don't claim to be very knowledgeable about them. I may or may not agree with everything posted, but I still like to read it. It certainly has given me the desire to be more educated about what's going on, even if I don't agree with what's stated.
(coming to KQ's defense here, in exchange for the help the other day, AND offering my own opinions, I really like those.)
I have to agree with this statement.Originally posted by KQ

bc-lovah
I don't post much in political threads, a lot of the time I don't even read them because I already know what I think and I'm not naive enough to think I'm going to change the conservative contingents' minds, but I side with KQ on this issue.
There's a TON of non-skiing-related stuff on here, if you don't want to read it, just don't read it. Simple enough.

Why not ignore Bush and simply cast your vote in November?

Some you will like and some not. We are a community. Existing only sometimes in the world of reality and sometimes on the electric screen, but we will not all be united, all in agreement on all topics, even the topic of which topics are taboo and which are necessary. Even perhaps, on the spelling of neseccary. Or not.
Perhaps I digress. Yes, the board could be only about skiing. If we didn't comply, then ONS could delete whatever threads were deviant. Then we would be Epic.
Yes, the politics too often ends up being the factions defining themselves as Left and Right, as Democrats and Republicans, as Bush and Kerry. Yes, the parties have dominated and gained control of the process at the near exclusion of "other". But to say that dialogue should be kept to an appropriate forum - would that be akin to saying that it should be kept within the party and away from those of us who make up the rest of the world?
Community depends on dialogue. And that dialogue must be free and open.

Your dog just ate an avocado!
No one likes being singled out or feeling like they are not contributing anything to the community. To that end I HAVE curbed my posting of items I feel will not be of general interest. HOWEVER - there are a lot of ppl here and someone is bound to take exception with posts from time to time no matter how focused you try to keep your posts.
I for one don't enjoy the porn posts so I stay away. I used to feel compelled to reply to things I didn't like but now I just try to "chill." Generally ppl have been really good about labeling their posts as non-skiing and such and I will admit this post is not so designated. For that I apologize but upon looking at it and seeing it is a thread you are not interested in why not just close it and let it drop to the bottom?
I understand that perhaps MD, Altachick and EP (only using your names because you are the three who posted here) may have just not been able to deal with it today but I note several non-skiing threads you've all participated in during the last couple of days.
So there you have it. Short of Owens blocking my logon I will continue to post just as you all will. Some will be skiing, some won’t.
Now let's all have a GREAT day.![]()

I like your posts but it seems your replies to my posts are always negative and that's not good for either one of us.

I think the key objection, KQ, is that you've become fixated on one singular issue - how inept President Bush is - to the exclusion of virtually all others and that this focus might be better served elsewhere.
I value a fun political debate but if I entered a political forum and constantly raved about how great Chamonix's skiing was I'd understand if I copped some flak for it.

KQ, I, for one, enjoy reading and occasionally engaging in the political and all other NSR threads. It doesn't detract from any other content due to the above mentioned fact of people having the option to read or not read.
The way I look at it this is a board made up of people who ski, not just skiing itself. There is a difference.
It just get's old. It's almost all you ever talk about KQ. At first I found it very insightful, but now it's just tired... almost producing the opposite effect which I think you're going for. The guy is being so picked on for every little minute detail that I almost tune out (and I do tune it out like you said, this is my first mention of this sort in how many of these threads?) anything said about him at all some of which needs to be heard. I guess beating a dead horse is fun, but do any thoughts other than G-dub travel between your ears? Why exactly are you on a ski forum? It seems like with your interests you'd be better served at a political forum? Honest questions. If you like talking politics more than skiing... It's not that EVRYTHING has to be about skiing. That's not the point, but not EVERYTHING should be about politics either. The mixture of politics to skiing is running a little rich. It's like joining a cooking forum to talk solely about pornography. I enjoy the occasional political thread, but you've got to be kidding me.
Since we are on the topic of NSR topics and the copious amounts of them (and there are a copious amount of them),
Can anyone tell me what the hell this is!!!
