I thought you got a job out in Saint paul or someplace out there. Guess I was wrong. Haven't skied in 3 weeks. Lots of survey work to get done before fishing starts. Hatcher could be alright if you want a quick nice tour just ski up the road to the pass than climb the ridge on your left, east side. Good views of the AK range, Chugach and Aleutians. Go all the wat to the high point at the back of the bowl.
I would skip Matt Kinney he is kind of a strange charecter. The touring is pretty straight forward. He is living in town so if you don't stay in Valdez you can waste a lot of time going in and back up to the pass. If Rendevous is open just pull in there. I have some friends that live behind the lodge. Road on your right just before you cross the bridge by Rendevous. Just stop in there and ask them what is good. Have fun. Good luck on the bid.
