  1. Thanks for the heads up!
  2. Wow, I'm posting and not drunk!
any-hoo, I know the line. Its not that good for several reasons and the main reason is wind. you know how the wind howls thru LB pass. the top 1/3 of the line is wind hammered, always. It is wind slabbed and as a result it cracks up when riden. There are times that it may be fun but its as close to an alpine feature as fernie gets and it is a deffinate start zone for slides too. It looks better froma distance than standing on top of it. also most people miss it when going for it coz when standing on top of mammoth there are minimal clues as to where it is. the times I've been there its slaby and those that ride it complain it wasn't so good, yet the trees off the shoulder of mammoth is the shizzle. everyone wants to summit, but the shoulder is all the elevation you need to get great fernie tree skiing.
its not called lost boys for nothing, twice I've had guys ski the wrong way, and I know of 2 other groups that have spent the nite in there!
  3. Hey Shadam!
I've been eyeing a line on Mammoth's head for quite some time now. From F.A.R., whitepass, it looks like a long chute running down the side towards Lost boys pass.
Do you know what I'm talking about? Ever ridden that line?

    cheers!
