It’s no mystery that Crested Butte, Colorado is chock-full of sick mountain biking opportunity, but when three of the most stylish riders around – Thomas Vanderham, Iago Garay, and Kim Hardin – go exploring, the result is beautiful to watch. They find a zone deeply rooted in mountain bike heritage, where in the mid 70’s, Crested Butte’s free-spirited locals began riding the treacherous 12,000-foot mountain passes on heavy, one-speed klunkers. These days, the bikes and trails are a little more cutting-edge, but the spirit still lives on.
