Downhill Racing is Back: Aaron Gwin and Myriam Nicole win first UCI World Cup
Popular Stories
Ladies and gentlemen, we are back. This weekend marked the start of the UCI World Cup downhill season, with an all-new venue in Losinj, Croatia. Touted as both “too short and too easy” as well as “so full of sharp rocks and edges that nobody would make it down in one piece,” the track laid in wait to devour anyone who dared to enter the start gate.
USA’s Aaron Gwin took home his 20th world cup win with a blisteringly fast run, beating out fellow American Luca Shaw and the kiwi Dean Lucas. This marks the start of his season’s attempt to regain the overall World Championship title. Good start.
