The North Face Presents ALASKA – Official Trailer

In the history of skiing, Alaskan big mountain skiing is such a little blip. Seeing what’s happened in the last 20-30 years up here versus in the last 100 years anywhere else is pretty incredible.

– Nick Mcnutt

When it comes to progression in big-mountain skiing, the impossibly steep faces of Alaska have without a doubt been the place where it all goes down. Nowhere else in the world do athletes have access like here, where crews push the limits each and every day – especially when the crew is made up of The North Face athletes Nick Mcnutt, Griffin Post, and Angel Collinson.

This past spring, that crew spent their time ticking off massive objectives in near-perfect conditions just outside Palmer, Alaska. The Chugach mountains are home to some of the finest big-mountain terrain in the world, so it should come as no surprise that Mcnutt, Post, and Collinson were frothing to put lines on these faces. However, the second they stepped out of the helicopter, they were reminded of the sheer scale and steepness of the place. It just drew them in even more.
