Let’s face it, dedicating your life to chasing skiing is pretty damn hard to do. There are these pesky little things like pursuing a career, supporting a family, and taking care of your body that tend to get in the way. When Dash Longe first set out to become a professional skier, he wasn’t thinking about any of those things, but as his career progressed, he had to find a way to balance his skiing life with the rest of what was going on. Luckily, his home of Salt Lake City provided him – and about 1 million other people – with the access and opportunity to make skiing an everyday part of his very busy life.
These days, Dash’s “real” job might be in real estate, but he sure still knows how to throw down on skis. Even with his busy professional lifestyle and the fact that he’s a husband and dad, he’s still a pro skier, and pro skiers go skiing in ski movies.
His latest appearance on the silver screen comes not in the form of big-production TGR or Warren Miller films, but rather in a very personal short film that showcases some of his favorite lines close to home. In DPS Cinematic’s latest episode Stone’s Throw, Dash gets sendy on some lines many of you might recognize. The entire short film was shot just a few miles from his house in the Wasatch mountains, and Dash wanted to create a film we can all relate to.

“This one is for the passionate skier in cities around the world who lives for the fact that they can get up early and go rip a sick line before work,” he says. Whether it’s Salt Lake, Denver, Seattle, or anywhere urban that’s got mountains in the back yard, this one’s for you.
The short film will premiere at Salt Lake City's The Commonwealth Room on Oct. 3, 2019, with full online release to follow on TGR.
