Back in 2015, Danny MacAskill put together a different kind of film from what we’re used to – it was called This is Drop and Roll, and watched something like a mix of 80’s hair-metal music video and bike edit. It was a collab with Fabio Wibmer, Ali Clarkson and Duncan Shaw, who were all part of the Drop and Roll tour, a traveling live trials bike show that wowed crowds around Europe.
In the latest installment of Danny’s Archive, he chats about what it took to pull off a handful of very creative tricks from the video – including the hippy hop knee slide across the stage, before landing back on his bike. Like lots of stuff he’s pulled off throughout his career, Danny readily admits that he had no idea if it was going to work.
