Video: Getting Barreled at Puerto Escondido’s Heaviest Beach Break

The beaches of Puerto Escondido, Mexico, like many others, have been rendered off-limits by the global pandemic. However, when a big swell hit the region, local surfers couldn't resist the urge to catch a few waves. Taking advantage of the wee morning hours before police came on duty, the surfers managed to catch a few waves before the boys in blue showed up.

Shore breaks are sketchy at the best of times, and a big swell makes the risk of getting slammed into the seabed even less palatable. Regardless, these surfers risked life, limb, and police displeasure to catch some epic barrels.
