Travis Rice Announced as FWT Hakuba Wild Card

Travis Rice's winning competition run from Hakuba two years ago.

The Freeride World Tour is truly the gift that keeps on giving. Yesterday morning, it was announced that snowboarding legend and Jackson local Travis Rice will be a wild card at the first competition of the season in Hakuba.

Rice blew minds in 2017 at the Freeride World Qualifiers 4-start event in Hakuba with a first place finish, and he wants to return to see if can take home a win on the world stage. This season’s competition is set for January 19-26.

Travis shares his love for the venue, saying, “ Really looking forward to competing in Hakuba this January with the best line up of Riders to date and an event venue that provides endless opportunity for expression! Honored to get a wild card, as for me, it’s the perfect way to kick the real winter season off in a place that leaves any free-rider wide eyes and inspired. Most places we say Pray for snow.. Here we will pray for Sun."
