An anonymous donor has paid more than $100,000 to get Teton County SAR a new, cutting edge tool for finding people lost or injured in the backcountry.  Lifeseeker is a technology developed to find cell phones even in areas where there is no signal.  Essentially, it acts as a mobile cell tower.

Teton County SAR is the first civilian organization in the United States to make use of the emerging technology, which has only recently been configured for use with North American cellular devices.  The device will not be used for law enforcement purposes, and has the potential to shave hours or even days off of rescues.
