It's been a full decade since the competition scene was graced by her presence, and even after a broken elbow a mere three months ago, Bethany Hamilton has just announced that she will begin surfing competitively on a global scale once more. Surfing in competitions around the world used to be her focus before a shark attack in 2003 forever changed her life.

The attack left her without an arm but with an insane determination to return to professional surfing which she has steadfastly accomplished even through recovery and a busy family life. She will be competing in the World Surf League Qualifying Series with her sights set on qualifying for the 2021 Championship Tour. Surfing has changed a lot in the last decade, but Bethany is certainly one to take on new challenges in stride and we're excited to see her make it happen this upcoming season.
