Upcoming Ski Resort Closing Dates

Though we wish spring skiing would last forever, it's coming to an end at many mountains. Tyler Gutierrez photo.

Ski season is coming to a close in the Northern Hemisphere. As much as it pains us to say it, we can't deny that warmer temperatures are doing a number on the snowpack. Rocks are starting to show up where they shouldn't, and surface conditions are going from pleasantly soft to dangerously watery. So, when exactly will the lifts stop spinning? We've assembled a convenient, though admittedly far from exhaustive list of closing dates at resorts across the country.

Alta, UT - Weekday operations ending April 21, closing day April 28

Big Sky, MT - April 21

Buttermilk, CO - April 7

Bridger Bowl, MT - April 8

Crested Butte, CO - April 7

Crystal Mountain, WA - April 21

Jackson Hole, WY - April 7

Keystone, CO - April 7

Okemo, VT - April 14

Purgatory, CO - Daily ops. ending April 7

Schweitzer, ID - April 7

Taos, NM - Daily ops. ending April 7

Telluride, CO - April 7

Whitefish, MT - April 7

Wolf Creek, CO - Daily ops. ending April 7
