3 Rescued After Car Plunges from Glacier’s Going-to-the-Sun Road

Glacier National Park Rangers responded Monday after a car plunged 40 feet off GNP's Going-to-the-Sun Road. The car had been forced to swerve around another car which had stopped to observe a bear, according to the Great Falls Tribune. The car's three occupants were retrieved in stable condition. Two were transported to the hospital via ambulance and one via ALERT helicopter, and the car was dragged back up to the road by a tow truck.

Glacier National Park Rangers have been busy this year, with law enforcement and emergency services-related incidents up 40% this year over the same period last year. Visits to Glacier in 2018 were the second-highest on record despite rampant wildfires, and 2019 is on track for even higher visitation.
