In yet another dispatch from Colorado's endless winter, Steamboat Springs received nearly two feet of fresh snow between Friday, June 21st, 2019 and the following morning. Avid astrologists will note that June 21st is the Summer Solstice, AKA the longest day of the year, as well as the official first day of summer. While such late season storms aren't entirely unheard-of, it's certainly enough of a surprise to make us consult our star-signs. Mine said "Don't put those skis away yet, buster."

In addition to dropping significant snow on Steamboat, the storm also dropped enough snow on Beartooth Pass between Wyoming and Montana to close the highway from Thursday evening until Sunday afternoon. The Pass is now open to traffic.
