Markus Eder Explains That Nose Butter 360 in Verbier

Last weekend, at the final stop of this year’s FWT in Verbier, we were shown a whole new flavor of freeride skiing when Markus Eder smeared a nosebutter 360 off the lip of a massive cliff during his comp run. The move landed him third place for the event and second overall, a welcome prize for the Italian’s heavy-hitting season.

Verbier is one of the steepest, biggest mountain faces on the FWT, but Eder doesn't seem to think that should stop him from showing hi freestyle side. FWT photo.

After reeling in the nerves, Eder sat down with second-place winner Craig Murray and head judge Lolo Besse to go over what went into their impressive lines. Surprise! A ton of thought and pre-run prep goes into skier’s line, but in the end, both were still surprised how big some of their airs ended up being. Eder’s says his rotation nearly sent him into a 540, but he opened up just in time to land it cleanly.
