Here’s a Scary French Couloir to Inspire Some Steep Spring Skiing

It’s becoming that time of year again: the snow is deep, stable, and those trophy backcountry lines are slowly coming into shape. For many of us, that means cranking it up to 11 and really getting after it to bag those lines we’ve been dreaming of all season.

Thanks to a record year of snowfall in the French Alps, Yannick Boissenot and Pica Herry did not have to wait until April to ski their dream line Diagonal. This Andreas Fransson-esque descent comes with everything: deadly cliff exposure, technical rock sections, and scary steep riding down a 10-foot wide couloir.
