Forrest Fenn’s Notorious Treasure has been Found

After a decade of inspiring treasure hunters to venture into the Rocky Mountains, Forrest Fenn has confirmed that his treasure has been located by a man "from back East," according to the Santa Fe New Mexican. The now-89-year-old Fenn, a retired art dealer, hid the treasure in the Rocky Mountains in 2010. According to the original story, an estimated 350,000 people have hunted Fenn's treasure since 2010, and at least four deaths have been associated with the search.

In an interview with the New Mexican, Fenn said that a photograph confirmed the treasure's recovery, but declined to share the photo. The successful treasure hunter is remaining anonymous for the moment, but hopefully at some point down the line we'll get a glimpse inside the legendary chest.
