Gigi Ruf Survives Avalanche

While filming for Pirate Movie Productions' latest, Perceptions, the Austrian snowboarder Gigi Ruf dropped into an open powder field and triggered a massive slide. Ruf pulled his airbag and; despite getting swept hundreds of feet, managed to stay afloat. 

After the incident, he opened up about the pressure to ride this line for the camera. Recent snow hadn't settled. He knew it, he explains, but let the pressure of meeting his filming deadline override his decision-making. He lays out the mistakes he made that day, and what was going through his head leading up to the avalanche.
