November 2, 2011 — TGR Tour Staff What do the worm Atomic skis and a cat have in common? Read on ... Seattle has always been one of the loudest, most rocking venues on the entire tour. On Oct. 20, Teton Gravity Research descended upon the King Cat Theater for the “One For the Road” premiere, and the city did not disappoint. On hand were athletes from Atomic and The North Face including Dana Flahr, Dylan Hood, Ian McIntosh, and more than 1,000 of their closest friends. As if everyone wasn’t excited enough about the lift tickets that they received from both Stevens Pass and Mount Bachelor, the huge amount of prizes provided by our sponsors definitely fueled the fire. The North Face gave away hoodies, T-shirts, beanies, and gift certificates. GoPro handed out two HD Hero helmet cameras, and our local partner EVO stepped up to the plate with a ton of swag and 10 percent off for everyone who attended. The season pass giveaways to both Bachelor and Stevens weren't too shabby either.
And then there was Atomic. As incredible as their skis are, nothing is free in this world. Two names were drawn out of the hat instead of just one, and after some careful deliberation by the expert panel of judges — Dana Flahr, Dylan Hood, and Ian McIntosh — it was determined that there was only one way to decide who won the skis ... yup, we held a worm-off. Hansel went first, and after a few stretches that would make a yogi blush, he brought the house down with a solid effort for someone who presumably hasn’t ever done the worm in front of a thousand screaming skiers and snowboarders. (He had a good 'suck it' motion at the end of his worm — hilarious). And then it was time for Der-ek-Zoo-lan-der and, well, let’s just say that he couldn’t worm. Fun times for all but Hansel, he’s so hot right now.
