8 Things To Do During the JHMR Power Outage

Jackson Hole is currently experiencing some serious power outages due to heavy snowfall and extreme winds. And unfortunately, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has had to shut down until Monday at the earliest because of it all.

Skiers and riders around town are losing their actual minds, wondering "What the hell am I supposed to do?" Besides the obvious — Targhee and Snow King — Here are some more ideas. 

1. Shovel Somebody's Roof

This is a real thing. The people need you. There are so many tin roofs around Jackson that are loaded with thousands of pounds of snow, causing leaks and unfortunate car-crushing roof avalanches. Help out and make some good money while you're at it.

2. Sunday Funday at The Bird

The Bird has a fantastic Bloody Mary/Mimosa situation on Sundays. Bottomless for $15.  They also have 20 beers on tap and happy hour from 4-6 every day and all night long on Tuesday and Thursdays $1 off bottles and well drinks and $4 select drafts.

3. Settle

Nothin' like a heated game of Settlers to pass the time. Drink if a seven is rolled.

Pro Tip: Go for the spot with the most dots. Or just don't invite that one friend who is super good (you know who you are).

4. Shave Beard / Get Haircut

According to an email survey sent out this morning, that's what 3/4 of our staff will be doing this weekend. Cool guys. 

5. Call your parents for the first time since November.

We get it. It's been snowing a lot. But come on, it's time. 

6. HP/LOTR/SW Marathon

Make a gargantuan bowl of popcorn (because you deserve it), dim the lights, and turn on some Harry P., Lord of the Rings, or Star Wars. Remember, "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light." Dumbledore said that once.

Or start Westworld and get back to me when you figure out who the hell 'Wyatt' is. 

7. Check out TGR's flagship store in town.
