Whiteface Mountain Joins Mountain Collective Pass

Whiteface becomes the 27th resort on Mountain Collective's roster and its 5th East Coast resort, including 2 in Canada.

It's a good day to be an East Coast skier. Whiteface Mountain, home to the East’s steepest steeps, is joining the Mountain Collective Pass for the 2025‑26 winter season.

Mountain Collective Gets Even More Eastern

With Whiteface added, the Mountain Collective now boasts three U.S. Eastern resorts: Whiteface (NY), Sunday River, and Sugarloaf (Maine). Passholders also get access to two Eastern Canadian destinations in Quebec: Le Massif de Charlevoix and Bromont.

With 5 resorts on offer, East coast skiers will have to give the pass a serious look this season. All told, the pass covers 27 ski areas across five continents. And there are some serious resorts on tap, including Taos, Jackson Hole, Snowbird, Alta, Snowbasin and Grand Targhee.

An Authentic Addition

Whiteface offers a commanding 3,430 ft vertical drop, the highest in the Northeast, and a range of steep expert terrain that backs it up.

The resort also carries real ski heritage: founded by 10th Mountain Division veterans, runs like 10th Mountain Division Glades and Riva Ridge pay homage to that legacy.

"The Slides"—double-black chutes created by natural avalanche scars—are only open under strict ski patrol conditions in spring. Access is metered by an Olympic themed rating system: Silver means Ski Patrol requires riders to carry avalanche gear like a beacon, shovel, and probe. A Gold rating means skiers can hit the Slides without Avy gear, so long as riders are in groups of two or more.
