When in Search of Adventure, Just Bring your Fly Fishing Gear Bikepacking

Colorado’s San Juan Range is to a sort of Shangri-La to those who pursue solitude and the beauty of nature in the mountains. Far away from the hustle and bustle of the Front Range, there is just something about the high alpine and its lakes and streams that attract a certain kind of individual: one who goes on a multi-day bikepacking trip to go fishing atop a mountain.

Mountain bikers Ben Kraushaar, Sam Simmons, Justin Reiter, and Dylan Stucki did exactly that, carrying their fly-fishing gear as they rode sections of high alpine singletrack deep in the San Juans, catching their fair share and running out of whiskey along the way.
