What You Missed During the Superbowl: Amazing New Moon Time lapse in the PNW

While most people were watching the Super Bowl and then sleeping off the extra calories they consumed via beer and chicken wings, Donald Jensen took his camera up to Artist Point near the Mount Baker Ski Area and captured this incredible time lapse footage. 

Jensen said if you pay attention you'll notice that as the time lapse goes along his camera sinks further into the snow.

Also the Vimeo description points out a couple cool things including the fact that the footage shows the flashing lights is from the ski area grooming the trails, and what looks like the sunset effect with the clouds is actually Light Pollution from the city of Bellingham.  

Also, you can make out the reddish-orangish color of Betelgeuse in the constilation Orion as it moves over Baker and the milkyway over Shuksan in the second clip.
