What Happens When Pro Big Wave Surfers Go Heli Boarding?

Skills translate across sports, don’t they? That’s exactly what Big Wave Surf champions Paige Alms and Billy Kemper set out to discover when they took a trip to Alaska’s Chugach Range to go heli-boarding. Lucky for them, pro snowboarders Robin Van Gyn and Leanne Pelosi, as well as Olympic gold medalist Julia Mancuso were there to share some knowledge.

Sharing skills in the mountains is one of the best parts of being there, and these pros have a lot to share. The surfers learn and feed off the energy of the snow athletes, and after riding textbook big mountain lines, the team switches gears and heads to the water.
