WATCH: Tim Koerber Explores Oman’s Remote Singletrack

A few years ago, photographer Tim Koerber was invited on the trip of a lifetime - traverse the Al Hajar Mountains of Northern Oman by mountain bike. The trip turned into a bit of a learning experience for Koerber and the rest of the team (Cooper Lambla and Tyler Allyn), as everything from navigation to even riding basic trails on fully-loaded bikes proved a crux.

“I had never been overseas before, and to be honest, I didn’t know where Oman was when I was asked to go. Logistics outside of the country weren’t easy, a lot of info is semi restricted, and finding quality maps was really hard,” says Koerber, who at that point had never even been bikepacking before.
