Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches. 2019 was a pretty brutal year for Völkl's Sam Smoothy. A ski crash in Austria nearly killed him early in the season, and another later in the year sent him back to the hospital and questioning his career as a professional skier. Luckily, 2020 turned into a rebate year with an opportunity to get back into the flow of things during one of Jackson’s deepest storm cycles ever. We're stoked to have Smoothy back in the mountains with us, pushing the limits and playing at the top of his game!
I got the call to head to Jackson, and it’s just been this endless Groundhog Day of just powder day, powder day, powder day. Deep snow in the trees just makes you love skiing again.
