Watch: Jim & Mads Clock Record-Breaking Times at Jackson Hole

Jim Ryan and Madison Rose Ostergren hunt for Strava speed records on the iconic expert terrain of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Forget the podiums and the medals for a second; sometimes the most intense competition happens right on your smartphone. In their latest YouTube video, TGR athletes Jim Ryan and Madison Rose Ostergren decided to see if they could translate their big-mountain prowess into digital dominance at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. In fact, the whole day revolved around chasing the JHMR Strava speed records and seeing who could land the fastest times.

Rules of Engagement

Chasing speed records in a resort setting requires more than just pointing the boards downhill. To keep things safe and respectful, the duo established a strict set of ground rules before dropping in:

  • Expert Terrain Only: Attempts were limited to expert bump runs to avoid high-traffic areas.
  • Slow Zones are Sacred: No high-speed skiing was permitted in designated slow zones.
  • No Blind Rollovers: To prevent collisions, they avoided segments with blind crests.
  • The Clear Crew: They utilized a team member to "clear" the run ahead of them, ensuring a safe path for the attempt.

Grinding for Seconds

The conditions were far from the "hero snow" usually seen in TGR films. Instead, Jim and Mads faced firm, chatter-filled surfaces while hunting for KOMs (King of the Mountain) on iconic segments. Despite the variable snow, the results were blistering. Notably, their quest for JHMR Strava speed records kept them moving fast even in tough conditions.

On the Dog Face segment, Jim clocked a record-breaking 26 seconds, while Mads put down a solid 34 seconds. They didn't stop there; the battle moved to Rendezvous Bowl, where Jim flew through in 44 seconds and Mads secured a second-place standing at 52 seconds.

The Leaderboard Battle

The competition stayed tight throughout the day as they moved across the mountain: JHMR Strava speed records were at stake on every run, intensifying each attempt.

  • Central Chute: Jim claimed the top spot with a 33-second heater.
  • Dick’s Ditch: Mads showed off her technical precision, taking 1st place with 46 seconds, just edging out Jim’s 47-second run.
  • Thunder Lift Line: Both athletes put down top-tier times, with Jim taking 2nd and Mads taking 1st for the Tower segment.

Beyond the Digital Dash

While this Strava mission provided a high-energy diversion, it’s this kind of dialed focus that makes these two some of the best in the business. Evidently, their pursuit of JHMR Strava speed records is just one more way they push the limits whether it's Jim scoping a line from the valley deck or Mads navigating a "no-fall pinner," they consistently push the limits of what's possible on snow.
