Chris Sharma Deep Water Soloed One of the Coolest Rock Features Ever

Rock climber extraordinaire Chris Sharma regularly starts projects that involve a lot of falling before he finally completes them. That is, when he uses a rope. Over the last few years he has been pushing the discipline of psicobloc, better known as deep water soloing, to new levels. He still falls a lot, just now into refreshing bodies of water. His latest project, a 5.14 climb on the Pont D’Arc in France, represents one of his greatest achievements in the sport to date. The arch is nearly 100 feet tall, and quickly became one of his favorite lines ever. Check out the absolutely enormous fall he takes while attempting the route.

From his Instagram: “It mixes the movement of sport climbing, the adventure of alpinism, with a hot summer day on the river."
