DAYDREAM | Amie Engerbretson’s Surreal Alaskan Ski Film
Popular Stories
Was It Real, or Just a Dream?
Pro skier Amie Engerbretson has always lived by the call of the wild. However, even for a seasoned adventurer, the genesis of her new film, Daydream, was a whirlwind of spontaneity and near-impossible timing. It all started with a last-minute call to Alaska—the kind of invitation you instantly regret if you decline. As a result, Amie had less than 12 hours to pack, travel, and drop into one of the world’s most pristine ski destinations. What followed was a magical, fleeting 48 hours.
The film, captured and edited by Tahoe-based director Brandon Skinner of Whiteroom Films, is a masterclass in distilled perfection. Furthermore, they structured the film entirely around the two perfect days of filming. This means every turn, smile, and powder plume you see is pure, unadulterated bliss.
Inside the Kit: Amie’s Essential Gear

A spontaneous trip to Alaska demands absolute trust in your equipment. For Amie, this means leaning on her core sponsors, who are represented across the Daydream project: Atomic and Norrøna.
This trip was the perfect testing ground for her recently launched Atomic Four Q L Signature Goggle. These goggles feature an oversized, cylindrical double lens with anti-scratch and anti-fog treatments, ensuring crystal-clear vision even in the white room conditions she encountered. Because fast-moving Alaskan weather requires quick adaptability, the magnetic lens-change system is a crucial element for on-the-go lens swaps.
For protection against the elements, Amie trusted her lightweight, high-performance gear from Norrøna. Amie has been a long-time ambassador for Norrøna, praising their strong background in sustainability and reliable design. It is this kind of bomber gear that allows an athlete to focus completely on the line, not the conditions.
