When you're a child, each birthday is a big deal, but once most people hit 21 (in the US), they stop caring too much about how old they are. However, completing a decade of life generally has an impact on even the least age-interested person.

Portuguese pro surfer Nic Von Rupp recently turned 30, which to many signifies a shift towards a more serious period of adulthood.
